Yasmeen George

Applied Artificial Intelligence Institute at Deakin University

Yasmeen is a research fellow with the A2I2 working on machine learning and computer vision projects. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Melbourne (UoM). She has been doing research and teaching in the area of AI, deep learning, image processing and data analytics for more than 10 years.

She worked on event detection in social media streams, breast cancer segmentation and diagnosis, psoriasis severity scoring, big data analytics, and glaucoma detection using different data modalities (Text, ,2D images and 3D volumes. With IBM, she worked on AI for the eye, specifically deep learning interpretability for retinal disease diagnosis and reinforcement learning for inter-frame eye movement alignment.
