1) Department of Dermatology, The Canberra Hospital and 2) College of Health and Medicine, Australia

I am a PGY4 and second-year basic physician trainee (BPT) at The Canberra Hospital (TCH) with a strong academic background. As an undergraduate I studied medical science and biomedical engineering at the University of Sydney (USyd) with an honours (neuroscience research) at the Brain and Mind Institute, after which, I completed a PhD in biophysics from the University of Sydney Medical School. This broad educational background with a good balance of research and clinical medicine has been strengthened by my experience in hospital-based medicine.

I have been running a social media campaign on the subject of skin cancer prevention. “MyHatMySkin” now has well over 3,000 Twitter followers including politicians, research scientists, medical doctors and institutions, as well as cancer sufferers, survivors and the general public. During the last 2 years, I have conducted research predominantly on sun safety and published 13 first-author articles in peer-reviewed journals. These publications include letters, reviews and research papers where I have been the lead investigator.
